Go Green with Polyurea
Polyurea contains low Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) and produces no toxic fumes during the application process. Typical Epoxy systems, on the other hand, produce clouds of toxic fumes for many hours after application. These fumes are dangerous to people installing the coating as well as people and pets in the general vicinity. VOCs emit greenhouse gases and are suspected to be a carcinogen,
The US EPA regulation for concrete protective coatings’ VOCs is set at 400 g/L. Polyurea have near-zero VOCs and fulfill the Federal Government’s 2010 VOC requirements. However, different regions have their own regulations for VOCs. Regulations will only get stricter in the future. Products with low or zero VOCs are in a good position to stay on the market and attract environmentally conscious consumers.
